“She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her sufferings.”
Mark 5:26-28 (NIV)
The lady in the above scripture is known as the “Woman with an Issue of Blood.” She suffered with this for 12 years, and on top of it she had invested all of her money in physicians-trying to find a cure. So not only was she sick in her body, but financially she was exhausted. It is safe to assume that she had done everything that she knew how to do and was at her wits end. But she heard the name JESUS. How sweet is that name to us Believers.
She knew that if she could touch His garment alone, she would be healed. Another translation says “made whole.” She not only needed physical healing, but restoration. She was in lack in more ways than one. Her faith was put on display when she pushed through the crowds determined to touch the garment of Jesus. Her faith was so strong that when she did touch it, Jesus knew immediately that power had come out from Him. So much so that He asked “Who touched me?” (Mark 6:31 NIV).
When the woman came to Him and explained to Him what had taken place, His response is quite interesting….He said “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”(Mark 6:.34 NIV). It was her faith in Jesus that healed her…that made her whole. She went to the Supply and He provided to her what she needed. Her faith was on display!
What are you believing God for? Is it a job, healing, promotion, deliverance etc? Or is it a In these times when your circumstances go contrary to the Word of God, what is it that is coming out of your mouth? Is it the Word or is it the emotions of sadness, frustration, or anger? I would encourage you to go to the Supply…the One whose Supply never runs dry. Speak His Word over your circumstances believing it, and let your faith be on display like the woman above. He will never fail nor disappoint you and most of all trust His timing… it is perfect!
