When my husband and I found out that I was pregnant with our first child, we were overjoyed with the fact of being first time parents. Thoughts went through our mind of what our baby would look like, their character and would we be good parents. These are natural thoughts for any new parent, however, along this line of thinking can come mounting impatience.
Our anxiousness of being first time parents, reminds me of how our relationship with God can be when we are waiting to hear from Him. We set time to pray for a specific request, and when it’s not answered in our time, we become frustrated. I believe God answers our prayers in three ways: yes, no or wait. But it’s the waiting at times that causes us to go ahead of God.
God knows that we our living in a “microwave” generation where everything is done instantly. It’s seen throughout our everyday life such as in technology and the food we consume. God reminds us in Philippians 4:6-7, not to be anxious about anything and that His peace will guard our hearts.
There are many examples of individuals in the bible who waited on God for an answer to prayer. Some waited patiently and others sought their own means of a solution. In the end it was proven that God’s answer was worth waiting for.
Tired of waiting…hold on, the answer to your prayer is closer than you think!
